Medications to Avoid Before Plastic Surgery
All patients anticipating surgery MUST STOP the use of ALL SOURCES of ASPIRIN and ASPIRIN-LIKE products (i.e. NSAIDS-- non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). All products listed below must be stopped at least one week before surgery. However, if a doctor has prescribed any of these medications especially for your heart, arteries or brain, please inform our office before stopping them.
The following is not a complete list. Please check with our office to be sure there is no aspirin or aspirin-like compounds or other anticoagulant in your medications. Especially check all cold, flu, sinus and allergy preparations.
Tylenol (acetaminophen) is allowed.
